Bitlis Kent Belleği is a social responsibility project initiated and developed by inBrand Adworks to preserve the cultural memory of Bitlis through first-hand narratives.
The project documents the city’s 20th-century history by giving voice to the people who lived it — transforming personal memories into a shared public archive.
As part of an extensive oral history study, interviews were conducted with 50 individuals, each contributing personal memories, experiences, and reflections on Bitlis’ social, cultural, and historical transformation.
These testimonies formed the core narrative material of the project, ensuring authenticity and emotional depth.
Drawing from the interviews, inBrand Adworks produced a 45-minute documentary titled “Unutma Kardeşim Bitlis” (Do Not Forget, My Brother, Bitlis).
The documentary weaves together personal stories, archival material, and original visual elements to create a powerful collective memory narrative.
All stages of production — filming, editing, storytelling structure, and motion graphics — were carried out by our agency.
The interviews were also published individually on the Bitlis Kent Belleği YouTube channel, creating an open-access video archive for future generations.
Content was shared across social media channels under the same name, reaching over 100,000 viewers, who experienced Bitlis’ recent history directly from its living witnesses.
We designed and developed bitliskentbellegi.com, a dedicated digital archive platform featuring:
The website serves as a long-term cultural repository, combining storytelling with academic reference.
inBrand Adworks created the project logo and visual identity, carefully balancing respect for heritage with contemporary design language.
Typography, color palette, and motion elements were designed to support the project’s emotional tone and documentary nature.
Bitlis Kent Belleği became a widely recognized cultural initiative, reconnecting audiences with Bitlis’ recent past and strengthening collective memory through storytelling.
The project stands as a strong example of how creative production, digital platforms, and social responsibility can come together to preserve cultural heritage and make history accessible to a broad audience.
